Help map rough roads from your phone.

Android testing is already underway in Southeast Missouri. An iPhone version is not scheduled yet, but we are measuring interest before deciding how soon to build it.

Android is where the first real-world road testing is happening.

Version 0.3 measures road movement while you drive, records road events with GPS context, safely queues uploads through dead zones, avoids duplicate retry data, and tracks bandwidth so the system can be planned for larger fleets later.

The Android beta is currently private. Invited testers receive the install link directly.

What the Android beta does

Built for hands-off road measurement.

Start the drive while parked, then leave the phone alone. The app handles the measuring and uploading in the background.

Measure the road

Phone motion sensors detect bumps and impacts while GPS places those readings on the road.

Survive dead zones

If service disappears, unsent road batches stay queued on the phone and retry when a connection returns.

Protect privacy

A random installation ID is used instead of a phone hardware ID, and the public map does not show an individual driver’s travel history.

Improve the map

Repeated readings help separate actual road problems from one-off phone movement and update conditions as roads change.

iPhone / Apple

Would you use Sucky Roads on an iPhone?

There is no iPhone app or release date yet. Add your email if you would be interested in testing one. The size of this list will help decide how soon an Apple version should move up the development list.

No spam. We’ll only use this to measure iPhone interest and contact you if an Apple beta becomes available.

Why not both today?

Android first, Apple when it makes sense.

The road-scoring system, server APIs, maps, and backend data can be shared across both platforms. The iPhone app itself still has to be built and tested for iOS, so gathering interest first keeps the project focused on the version already collecting real road data.
